Fire & Rescue

Fire & Rescue services are provided by the Bloomfield Genoa City Fire and Rescue District (BGCFR).  These emergency services are shared among three municipalities to help defray the costs to taxpayers.  The Village and Town of Bloomfield have funds set aside for special purchases that benefit the department. 

The Fire Chief and Captain are typically stationed at the Bloomfield Fire Station on a full-time basis.  The remainder of personnel are paid volunteers.   Bloomfield Fire Station, non-emergency phone number is (262) 279-2033.

Who makes the rules where I plan to burn

It is your responsibility to know where you are burning and what restrictions apply. DNR annual burning permits are only valid within DNR Protection Areas and outside incorporated cities and villages. Remember, you must also comply with local ordinances that may be more restrictive than state law. Contact your local fire department, town chairperson, or local municipal official if you have any questions.
